perfect acoustics
The Daegu Opera House is a dedicated opera venue, so we've been working on perfecting the acoustics. The acoustically adequate hall volume and seat sizes (W:25m X L:34m X H:15.48m) ensure that even the rear and side balcony seats feel acoustically full.
The reverberation time is designed to be 1.2-1.6 seconds for optimal sound effects, the difference between direct and indirect sound is only 0.02 seconds, and no echo is detected.
For optimal efficiency, the theater is equipped with systems that can be used not only for opera performances but also for various other performances. In order to adjust sound absorption and reflectivity according to the performance, 48 roll screens were installed in the dome section of the ceiling, and sound-absorbing curtains were installed on the walls of the venue to adjust the reverberation time according to the content of the performance and the intention of the performance organizer. An acoustic system that can generate sound effects and precisely adjust, record, and playback sound conditions used in operas, musicals, and plays is installed, and front speakers and apron speakers are also installed for the audience in front of the stage.

- Perform electroacoustic testing by computer simulation (at design time)
- Conducting architectural acoustic tests for reverberation time, echo time pattern, acoustic disturbance phenomenon, sound pressure level distribution, and calculation of all physical quantities by physical model (Scale : 1 / 10).
- Conducting architectural acoustical interim testing while on site
- Conduct comprehensive architectural acoustical testing after completion of site finishes
